Principal Responsibilities:

Summary: The Assistant Camp Director is responsible for assisting in the coordination, program development and execution of Camp Keff programs, including the hiring, training, and management of seasonal camp staff, with direction from the Camp Director. The Assistant Camp Director oversees seasonal (fall, winter, spring) and teen camp programming, parent communications, program transportation and off site logistics. The Assistant Camp Director assists with Camp Keff Family Events and PJCC Youth and Family programs as needed. The Assistant Camp Director also assists with Camp Keff marketing and promotional events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Hours: 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, but some weekend, evening, and overnight work (may include camping) will be required as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; and two+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; a minimum of 2 years' experience in youth programming and curriculum development in a camp or other educational environment. Strong organizational skills and experience with detail-oriented tasks required. Experience working in a Jewish Community Center environment or knowledge of Jewish culture a plus.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Experience with Salesforce CRMs and the ability to learn registration database software. Experience with email marketing such as MailChimp or HubSpot, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Wordpress website management preferred.

Communication Skills:

Verbal, non-verbal, and written communications are required. Appropriate language, tone, and demeanor are to be used at all times. Written pieces must be written creatively, efficiently and free of grammatical and factual errors. Adjusting language and tone based on the target audience.

Certificates and Licenses:
Wilderness First Responder or ability to obtain certification.

Class B Drivers License with passenger endorsement and youth bus certificate or ability to obtain certification.
