Early Learning School: Lead Teacher, Full-Time

Principal Responsibilities:

Lead Teachers develop meaningful opportunities for young children to grow and learn. They collaborate with co-teachers, Assistant Teachers, the Curricula Director (Pedagogista), Inclusion Specialist, and families to create lesson plans that guide children's active engagement in classroom environments. Lead Teachers work with groups of children, applying a constructivist approach to learning that also reflects key Jewish values.

Responsibilities
 Health, safety and security of all children
 Develop lesson plans and prepare classroom for learning
 Conduct Family-Teacher Conferences
 Observe and document children's learning
 Provide personal routine care for individual children
 Update and maintain classroom blog via Weebly
 Create a safe and nurturing environment for children and families
 Follow best practices and adherence to licensing requirements
 Participate in required staff meetings and professional development

Minimum Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
 Early Childhood Teacher Credential (Level III in PDIS)
 First-Aid/ CPR

Preferred Qualifications
 BA/BS in a field related to Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Development
 Knowledge of a constructivist approach to learning, and/or emergent curricula
 Prior experience working with young children

Knowledge and Skills Requirements
 Proficiency in MS Outlook
 Excellent verbal and written communication
 Knowledge of, and respect, for the rules and regulations of the Jewish Community Centers of Denver, including the Employee Handbook and ability to abide by them.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
The position requires the candidate to be able to care for children's physical needs on a consistent basis. Candidate must be able to interact with children on their level; frequent bending, squatting, and playing on the ground is expected. Candidate must be able to lift 30 lbs. Candidate must remain alert and proactive. Children and teachers move about the building to engage in weekly specials such as music, Judaics, or swimming lessons. The ideal candidate is able to be flexible with routines, and willing to engage in the overall community of the JCC.
