Job Title: Marketing Manager

Department: External Engagement

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 depending on experience


The Marketing Manager reports to the Senior Director of External Engagement and is responsible for developing and implementing strategic and tactical marketing support across the Boulder JCC. This position works with the Development, Program, and Administrative teams to ensure that the BJCCs brand and messages are communicated clearly and consistently, and are effective in reaching targeted audiences using appropriate media.


Marketing Strategy Development

 In coordination with the Senior Director of External Engagement (SDEE) and the Executive Director, develop an overall marketing strategy for the Boulder JCC

 In partnership with Program Directors, create sub-marketing plans for each of their programs, which roll-up to feed the overall marketing strategy

 Collaborate with leaders and teams across the agency to ensure that their goals are supported by, and represented in, the Marketing Strategy

 Ensure articulation of the BJCCs desired image and message, assure consistent communication of image and message throughout the agency, to all constituencies, both internal and external

 Identify opportunities to expand/extend the Boulder JCCs conversation/message

 Develop BJCC marketing budget and assist other areas throughout the BJCC in identifying program specific costs related to marketing

Communications Development and Management

 Create relevant and compelling messaging for the broader Boulder JCC community which represents the agencys mission and priorities; review with ED and SLT

 Support all areas within the BJCC to ensure that messaging in all communications is consistent

Marketing Strategy Implementation

 Partner with all program areas to develop and execute program specific messaging and materials on a timely basis

 Manage marketing calendar to ensure manageable workload and timely deliverables

o Approve all Marketing Team deadlines; elevate to SDEE as needed

 Develop/enhance processes which lead to clear and efficient work plans for marketing requests through use of

o Program communications development process and policy

o Marketing materials request form

 Ensure consistency of messaging throughout agency

 Develop and manage the BJCCs digital marketing tools

 Partner with Graphic Designer to ensure messaging and graphics work in tandem

 Develop marketing campaigns consistent with strategy

 Partner with SDEE and ED to develop any communications at times of crisis

 Manage media requests

 Develop relationships, evaluate and manage all marketing-related vendors

Social Media/Production

 Manage all social media outlets

o Ensure content represents BJCC messaging

o Approve all content prior to placement

o Approve and train all personal given limited updating permissions

 Evaluate and recommend medium appropriate for reaching targeted BJCC audiences

 Support BJCC events with event specific production


 Oversee the work of and manage the Graphic Designer

o Manage and update materials development process

o Manage materials development calendar

o Manage work flow, prioritize work

o Conduct informal and formal annual review

 Recruit and oversee the work of and manage Marketing Interns

 Identify costs to charge back to program areas as needed

Minimum Qualifications:


 Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

 Five or more years of marketing experience, preferably in a non-profit environment

 Demonstrated creativity

 Ability to work independently and collaboratively

 Strong interpersonal skills

 Excellent oral and written communication skills

 Highly organized and efficient

 Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deadlines

 Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite and web design software

 Experience with project management software preferred
