Principal Responsibilities:

Full time year round position

Summer Location: on Town Island near Kenora, Ontario serving the Winnipeg Jewish community

Off Season Location: Asper Jewish Community Campus, 123 Doncaster St. Winnipeg, Manitoba

Commencing date: start date is flexible, but no later than January 2, 2019

BB Camp Info:

Located on 30 acres on Town Island, Lake of the Woods, Ontario, approximately 10 km south of Kenora, BB Camp offers a wide range of specialty activities that aim to build leadership skills and independence, practice wilderness and outdoor skills (including preparing for a four-week canoe trip and a leadership training program), connect with Judaism and Jewish culture, and foster relationships within the community. Each summer, BB Camp serves over 700 campers in grades 2 to 10 in as they participate in a variety of residential and day camp sessions. During the summer months of May through August, BB Camp also facilitates Outdoor Education rental programs to community organizations and school groups. Approximately 1000 campers participate in Outdoor Education programs at BB Camp. BB Camp is an accredited member of the Manitoba Camping Association and is affiliated with the JCC Association.

Minimum Qualifications:

Position Summary:

The Executive Director ("ED") serves as the Chief Executive Officer and reports to the Board of Directors. The ED is responsible for overseeing the management of the operations and programs of BB Camp. The ED works with the Board of Directors to develop and implement a shared vision for the future, and carries out the policies and goals of BB Camp.

We are looking for a dynamic outdoor professional with significant experience in planning, leading, and supervising Jewish and environmentally focused programs, including, but not limited to:
