Among the largest JCCs in North America with an operating budget of $21 million, 150 full time and 300+ part time staff, the Kaplen JCC operates 22 business units and offers over 350 activities weekly serving more than 5,000 people per day. Our 185,000 square foot building plus acres of outside grounds feature two fitness centers, an indoor and outdoor aquatics center, group exercise, spin and pilates studios, two gymnasiums, tennis and racquet courts, indoor track, a luxurious spa, multiple playgrounds and fields and so much more. Principal Responsibilities:

We are a strengths-based organization looking for an inspirational leader who is a team player focused on helping and supporting others to achieve their goals. Our JCC seeks a proven leader and innovator in the wellness and recreation spaces who can enrich the current successes and lead our team, programming and operations forward. This is a unique opportunity to grow and enhance a vibrant, full-service $3M operation that includes fitness services, group exercise classes, aquatics programming, sports and recreation, and spa services with 10 full time employees and over 150 part-time employees and vendors. Our organization serves the whole family with over 3000 families, 5500 adult members and 4000 youth. Facilities include outdoor fields, pools, and courts; and indoor aquatics center, three fitness centers, three group exercise rooms, cycling studio, Pilates studio, two gymnasiums, tennis and spa. With these limitless opportunities, we are seeking a creative approach to engagement, retention, service and financial oversight.

The Health and Recreation Director is responsible for the overall operations and programming of fitness, group exercise, aquatics, athletics, and spa as well as procedures including member retention, marketing, financial performance, interdepartmental integration, housekeeping, and staff management. This individual will ensure the financial and operational success of the reporting departments and physical plant through planning and proactive communication, exceptional leadership, mentoring, and guidance of all staff.
