Principal Responsibilities:

The Program Director is responsible for supervising, planning and developing a program of activities, which implement the mission of the agency.

He/she is responsible for interpreting the needs and interests of the various segments of the agency's constituency so that the program may be built upon a professionally sound and constructive basis, and develop in new directions as new needs are identified. He/she is responsible for identifying community and staff resources needed to carry out the program.

1. Administration and Supervision

Assists in developing and supervising the agency program budgets for identified areas and maintaining fiscal controls.

Develops and supervises a system of narrative and statistical program reports.

Purchases program equipment and supplies for assigned departments.

Attends staff meetings, supervisory meetings, and all significant JCC programs.

Works with Chief Development Officer to find program sponsors or underwriters.

2. Program development

Develops and implements programs.

Plans, coordinates and integrates various phases of the J's programs.

Works with and guides identified volunteers in their program area.

3. Relationship with Community Organizations

Maintains cooperative relationships with organizations and agencies that can contribute to the J's programs.

Serves with colleagues in similar positions on community wide committees.

Participates with other agencies in developing joint programs and community wide activities.

Participates in professional organizations in the field.

Upon assignment by the CEO, represents the agency in other community activity.

4. Specific Areas of Supervision to be determined based on expertise

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a nonprofit environment
  2. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
  3. Some supervisory experience preferred
