Principal Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing the human resources function with specific accountabilities in: staffing, selection and recruitment, policy and procedure formulation, implementation, interpretation and development, records management compensation and classification administration, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, training and development, risk management/safety, and maintaining legal compliance. Primarily responsible for the development and implementation of human resources programs that support organization goals and objectives, operating within established timelines and budgets, working independently, and using substantial discretion and judgment. Work schedule is generally, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with a potentially longer work schedule as needed including occasional evening or weekend work as dictated by work schedule and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or equivalent amount of related experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of employment law at federal and state levels.

Demonstrated and extensive general knowledge of human resources principles, concepts, practices and related compliance issues.

Proficient in computer word-processing and spreadsheet software applications.

Sound background in financial management and budgetary techniques as well as knowledge of management principles and practices.

Ability to work independently and effectively manage simultaneous projects.

Ability to research, analyze and interpret information to make sound recommendations for action.

Proven problem-solving, leadership and management skills.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, discretion & integrity in handling confidential information.

Position requires occasional travel in the local area. Must have a reliable vehicle, and requires maintaining a valid Florida State drivers' license with a satisfactory driving record and eligibility for coverage under any applicable agency insurance.

Ability and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development activities in order to keep current on new developments in the field and to enhance skills already maintained.

The Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches is a non-profit organization with several hundred part-time and full-time employees. The JCC serves the community with a number of programs including early childhood education, camp, sports, arts and culture, afterschool programming, fitness, and more.
