Principal Responsibilities:

The Position

The Shames JCC seeks an outstanding Development Manager to join the agencys management team. The Development Manager will be responsible for critical management and administrative functions to support advancement efforts, including volunteer management for peer-to-peer fundraising, lay committee support, database management, prospect research, compiling and reviewing constituent lists, correspondence with members and event management. Successful candidates will be sophisticated, astute, and outgoing, with proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing with donors and to work as a team player with staff and lay leaders. The Development Manager reports to the Executive Director.

The Harold and Elaine Shames JCC on the Hudson has served the Jewish community and its environs for almost 90 years. Currently based in Tarrytown, New York, the agency recently opened a brand new facility and is expanding its membership, facility, program and operations. Striving to enrich the greater community by offering social, recreational, educational and cultural opportunities guided by Jewish values, the Shames JCC operates youth and education programming from early childhood through high school, adult engagement programming for all ages, a health center and aquatics center, on- and off-site camping programs, special needs programs and a range of other experiences that help our members and community Move, Learn, and Connect. Supported by almost two hundred part-time and full-time staff and a cadre of volunteer leaders, the Shames JCC strives to be a center of innovative programming and a community asset that is a model for the Westchester community and beyond.
