Shalom Austin empowers the people and organizations that make a difference in our Jewish community. We provide leadership, financial support, services, facilities, and connections with people and Jewish organizations throughout Austin, Israel, and the world. Shalom Austin supports four main branches, including the Jewish Community Center (JCC), Jewish Federation of Greater Austin, Jewish Family Service and the Jewish Foundation of Austin & Central Texas, who are all tasked with delivering aspects of our promise to the Austin community. Located on a 40-acre gated, natural campus with current expansion plans to include a water park, tennis courts, and enhanced gym and educational facilities, Shalom Austin is centrally located and proudly houses three local temples. The Early Childhood Program, a part of the JCC, is one of the gateways to our community and serves children from six weeks through five years old.

Principal Responsibilities:

We are looking for full-time summer seasonal educators who are experienced, adventurous, creative, and responsible. These individuals share a passion for early childhood education, value children as Constructivist learners, view themselves as life-long learners, and love working as a professional in a community-oriented family environment. We foster a sensory-rich, hands-on learning environment based on a child-centered philosophy that is viewed through Jewish lenses. Our staff, families, and children are on an ever-changing journey or masa full of reflection, return, and renewal. If you are willing to share your positive and energetic attitude with our families and entire member base, then this job - with the potential to turn into a full-time position in Fall 2017 - is for you! We also value high-quality professional development and provide numerous opportunities including paid CPR/First Aid training.
