The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston is searching for an experienced early childhood education leader to direct their flagship Early Learning Center located at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton. The Center enrolls over 180 children infant through preschool age in 15 classrooms. The Director leads a team including Assistant Directors, Office staff, Child Development Specialists and a dedicated staff of 50 Teachers. The program focuses on providing children with meaningful learning experiences through emergent curriculum and extensive enrichment opportunities, with a strong family-centered approach. This full time, full year position begins in June 2017.

Interested candidates should have very strong leadership, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess a M.A. or B.A. in child development or a related field, a solid background in early care and education, and a minimum of 7 years of experience as an early childhood center director. Prior directing experience in a large center is essential, and a knowledge of Judaica for early learners is a plus. A Massachusetts EEC Director II certification is necessary.
