The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, a member of the Jewish Community Center Association of North America, is one of the largest social service, recreational and educational organizations in the region. For more than 120 years, the JCC has enriched our community by creating an environment rooted in Jewish values that strengthens the physical, intellectual and spiritual well-being of individuals and families. Comprehensive programming includes child care and preschool, after-school and schools-out programs, day and overnight camping, senior adult activities, fitness and wellness programs, special needs services, arts and cultural activities including a nationally-accredited Jewish museum and scores of programs for all ages and interests. The JCC houses state-of-the-art fitness and wellness facilities, heated indoor swimming pools and an Olympic-size outdoor pool for summer use, gymnasiums, squash/racquetball courts, outdoor playgrounds, auditoriums, dance studios, classrooms and meeting areas. The JCC is a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, United Way of Allegheny County and Jewish Healthcare Foundation.

Principal Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY: Executes and implements key program components of teen learning and engagement (i.e., J Line, J-Serve) that enhance the Agencys mission and core values to enrich Jewish life, tradition and community; fostering meaningful connections to the land and people of Israel and the Jewish community worldwide; promoting active collaborations to build lasting Jewish commitment; and, fostering the Jewish Value of Tikkun Olam. Also serves as a member of the Emma Kaufmann Camp team with a focus on teen engagement and camp-inspired Jewish experience for teens; maintains residency part time at Emma Kaufmann Camp during the summer months. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Directs the work of part time personnel

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervision from Division Director/Jewish Life

Minimum Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Jewish Education, or related field, with Masters Degree preferred, with at least three (3) years experience working in Jewish educational settings with an emphasis on teen engagement or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally he/she is required to sit. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. CERTIFICATIONS:
