Principal Responsibilities:

The Inclusion Coordinator administrates, assesses, creates, and works directly with a variety of camp, fitness, social, and recreational programs for adults and children with a variety of special needs both within the JCC and collaboratively with external organizations. The Inclusion Coordinator also creates and administers programs to build community awareness of disability inclusion and to promote greater acceptance of and accommodations for persons with various abilities/disabilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop and implement inclusion programming for children and adults at the J. This includes existing programming and identifying potential new programs.
  • Hire and train advocates, teachers, and program facilitators.
  • Select, hire and oversee guest speakers and/or experts.
  • Interact regularly with participants and families to develop goals and objectives for program participation.
  • Work together with the Marketing Department to design and implement a marketing plan to recruit participants and attract attendees.
  • Report on program outcomes, including gathering feedback using agency survey tools. Monitor this information against strategic plans, logic models and/or goals.
  • Act as a consultant to the camp director on the camp advocate program. Assists with hiring and training summer staff; working with parents/guardians on intake assessments; and working with parents/guardians on summer goal setting.
  • Oversee a Sunday School Advocate program in partnership with participating synagogues.
  • Maintain funding for programs through writing and applying for grants and building donor relationships. Work together with the Development team to identify new opportunities for funding.
  • Oversee the Inclusion department budgets, invoicing, and complying with agency accounting practices.
  • Prepare and submit inclusion staff payroll per Agency guidelines.
  • Promote new and existing programs around the JCC and in the community.
  • Collaborate within the JCC to facilitate the most inclusive environment for new and existing programs across departments.
  • Create and adhere to a viable budget for inclusion programs and staff.
  • Participate as a member of the Programming Department, attend department meetings, and support cross-department events as needed.
