The Milton & Betty Katz JCC, Atlantic County, NJ, a thriving non-profit community center, is looking for an energetic, charismatic CEO. If you are an experienced Executive with 10 plus years of leadership experience, deep familiarity with Jewish identity, values and traditions as well as understanding of non-profit organizations, we want to speak to you.


The Milton & Betty Katz Jewish Community Center, located in Margate, NJ is seeking a "type A" CEO who is an energetic, creative, and passionate leader. This executive should possess excellent strategic and business management skills with a proven track record in financial management and fundraising. He/she must also have past experience in community relations/outreach.

Located in Atlantic County, NJ (near Atlantic City), this thriving community center which serves as the heart of the beach community, provides opportunities for residents to enjoy recreational, educational, cultural and social activities. The mission of the Milton and Betty Katz JCC is to foster an appreciation of Jewish identity, values and culture, to promote health, education and welfare of our members, to strengthen Jewish family life, to build a sense of community and to ensure Jewish continuity for our children and our children's children. CEO Competencies

Provides Exemplary Executive Leadership

The CEO must be a passionate and empathetic leader who is accessible and listens to all viewpoints. The CEO will be expected to promote a culture of innovation and drive the key businesses of the JCC while creating on-going excitement and excellence for the JCC staff and the community.

Proven Ability in Fundraising and Resource Development

The CEO will engage and steward donors and seek gifts of significance. The CEO will direct cutting edge practices in donor development and will reach out and cultivate new potential donors and new potential sources of revenue, as well as identify and help to secure grants.

Experience in Operational Management

The CEO will provide leadership to all aspects of the JCC operations and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the JCC. This includes an understanding of the physical plant, technical support systems and running the various businesses of the JCC, including pre-school, fitness center, aquatics center, summer camp and seniors program. In addition, the CEO will be involved in the planning and execution of all JCC programs and will coordinate and integrate all services offered by the JCC.

Presents Visionary and Strategic Leadership

The CEO will promote a vision that captures the energy of the JCC and represents the strategic planning and priorities as determined by the Board of Directors, and will create a path for a more robust, engaged and involved community going forward.

Exhibits Skill in Fiscal Management

The CEO will be responsible for helping to ensure financial stability in partnership with the CFO and the finance and audit committees. The CEO must possess knowledge and understanding of financial systems, the ability to establish and maintain a realistic budget, and the aptitude to use timely financial statements to guide and oversee agency performance.

Represents the JCC in the Community

The CEO must be comfortable with interacting in the community at-large. He/she will be highly visible in the local/state and national community and will expected to work to build effective coalitions, partnerships and collaborations with agencies, businesses and government officials. He/she will be required to work with Jewish and non-denominational organizations.

Demonstrates Strong Staff & Volunteer Management Skills

The CEO will create a culture of productivity in the work environment, inspiring, engaging and empowering the professional staff of the JCC. Through selecting, developing and motivating staff, the CEO will foster innovation, teamwork and collaboration.

The Milton and Betty Katz JCC of Atlantic County is located in Margate New, New Jersey about 2.5 hours from NYC and 1.25 hours from Philadelphia. The JCC has 100 years plus legacy of serving the Atlantic County Community.

In 2002 we constructed new facilities that include a preschool, auditorium, early childhood wing, a fitness wing (with over 80 group exercise classes), and an auditorium and more. We are in the process of renovation these facilities.

We are very involved in our Jewish and general community. We manage 7 senior nutrition programs, the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series (with 3 races bringing over 5,000 runners to Atlantic City), an international travel program and numerous other community programs.

Our Jewish Programs include a Jewish book fair, a Jewish film series, weekly learning programs and much more.

We have an active board of directors who are supportive of JCC operations. Our finances are in good order with a balanced budget every year.

We have a young staff who have been with us an average of 8 years and are very dedicated and creative to meeting the Katz JCC Mission.

Our CEO is retiring after 20 successful years with our JCC. He says that our community is a wonderful place to live and our JCC staff and board are eager to have a new CEO join our JCC family.
