Principal Responsibilities:

The San Diego Jewish Teen Initiative is looking for a Director. The initiative, a joint LFJCC and Federation project, is managed by the LFJCC and housed at the LFJCC Jacob's Family Campus in La Jolla. The San Diego Jewish Teen Initiative is a countywide partnership of the JCC, Federation and the Jim Joseph Foundation, the goal of which is to increase teen engagement within the Jewish community. Key strategies for this initiative include elevating communal expectations for meaningful teen programming, infusing effective and proven methods for teen engagement, and meeting teens where they are and appealing to their varied interests and passions. Success for the Jewish Teen Initiative reflects a systemic change within the San Diego Jewish community, where local agencies and synagogues are able to support and engage 3,000+ Jewish teens. This executive position oversees a $1 million annual budget, manages a team and is responsible for the vision, direction, and execution of the initiative.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong applicants have demonstrated experience in teen engagement, fundraising, management, board development and community organizing. This is a program position requiring a minimum of 5-8 years related experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong knowledge and experience of Jewish Teen Programming AND community collaboration.

The LFJCC provides a diverse, intergenerational, family-friendly environment to over 8,000 members and nonmembers. Every month there are approximately 140,000 visits to LFJCC programs and services. In addition, close to 50 community groups including public schools, sports teams and other nonprofit organizations use the LFJCC facility on an ongoing basis.
