Principal Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Shames JCC on the Hudson is seeking a part-time Affinity Fellows Coordinator to oversee our new Affinity Fellows engagement program. The Affinity Fellows Program is a cohort of adults passionate about an interest or looking to solve a challenge that they and others face, and build intimate communities around these focal points. For example, monthly gatherings of parents whose children have "graduated" from early childhood centers connected with the Jewish community and are now determining how to continue Jewish family life on their own or parents of children with language based learning disabilities who want to share best practices for parenting and available resources.
The Affinity Fellow Coordinator will coordinate a yearlong training for these Fellows consisting of seven leadership seminars with guest speakers from nationally renowned companies and organizations for the Fellows that will enable them to organize authentic community building programs within their respective networks and friend groups. The AFC provides individual administrative, programmatic and organizational support to each of the Fellows, including some potential "site" visits to the affinity groups. Throughout the course of the year, the AFC will work on formative and summative evaluation and prepare recruitment and marketing materials for subsequent cohorts. The AFC will also participate in the UpStart Cohort program being run in conjunction with the Westchester UJA Federation office.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Affinity Fellows Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing this program including facilitating the seven leadership seminars, bringing in guest speakers, and organizing the food and drinks. The Coordinator will also meet biweekly or monthly with each of the Fellows (approximately 5-7 people) for 30-60 minutes each to assist them in creating and sustaining their affinity groups.
SCHEDULED HOURS: 10 Hours Per week

Minimum Qualifications:

 Proven ability with community organizing
 Able to engage and lead people
 Manage time effectively
 Experience with event planning
 Networks in the business, non-profit, or Jewish non-profit world
 Microsoft Office and general computer skills
 Understanding of basic marketing techniques
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
