CUSTOMER SERVICE MISSION STATEMENT

POSITION PURPOSE:

The ECLC Director will provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Early Childhood Education department. This includes but is not limited to, hiring, supervision, direct support and mentorship to teaching faculty members, Teachers growth and professional development, curriculum development for the ECLC, ITC, Camp Yeladim and TK programs, as well as daily operations of the ECLC programs. The ECLC Director will also ensure compliance with standards of excellence in each classroom as well as State and local licensing agencies, in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Merage JCC and ECLC.She/He will promote cooperation, participation and harmony within the ECLC Families and Faculty and convey a sense of collegiality and professionalism in the Merage JCC environment.

The ECLC Director will participate in center-wide functions, events and initiatives. She/He will serve as a resource to and provide appropriate support and feedback to the Merage JCC Staff and Members on matters relating to Early Childhood Education and families with children ages 0-6. The ECLC Director connects the ECLC Department to the Merage JCC, and ensures linkages and participation in Merage JCC programs to ensure continuity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ECLC Director will provide leadership and vision for the ECLC Community of teachers, parents and children. Through study with and guidance of the teaching and learning process in the ECLC the ECLC Director will maintain a primary focus on challenging the ECLC community to provide the best possible education and care for children in Orange County. The ECLC Director will help to ensure that the teachers are hired and retained to maintain excellence in the field and will help their growth by helping to nurture teachers as researchers in the teaching and learning process.

The ECLC Director will focus on supervision of the ECLC Assistant Director's, Teacher Leaders, Camp Yeladim Director, Infant Toddler Coordinator, Administrative Assistant and ECLC Admissions Director to ensure that all aspects of the program are delivered. The ECLC Director will oversee and staff the Gesher Parent Committee and help with the selection of the Co-Chairs of this committee.

The ECLC Director will provide leadership and vision to communicate the ECLC's philosophy (Judaic Culture, (Reggio Emilia Inspired Approach) and Developmentally Appropriate Practice) through work with children, parents and professional colleagues.

Specific Focus will include but is not limited to the following:

To represent the ECLC in the Orange County Community as well as at school Open Houses and other community and Merage JCC events.

To plan and coordinate teacher a professional development program based on the needs and educational interests of the faculty.
