Principal Responsibilities:


The Finance Director is under the supervision of and responsible to the Executive Director of the JCC. She/he is to serve as a member of the JCC's professional staff team. She/he is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the JCC's finance department and handles all the day to day accounting functions. She/he is responsible to plan, lead and organize monthly finance meetings which are held in the evenings. The position requires strong analytical, supervisory and communication skills, the ability to identify and implement new initiatives, and the skill to inspire the respect, collaboration, and cooperation of department heads and staff.


Providing support to, preparing reports and making recommendations to the finance committee of the board on operating performance, balance sheet/statement of financial position items (including reserves), insurance, benefits, and challenges/opportunities on the horizon. Calculating variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.

Assisting Executive Director and Department Heads to prepare yearly budgets. Leading the annual budget process. Working with department directors, Executive Director, and the finance committee of the board to build a realistic budget. Analyzes and reports budget variances on a monthly basis.
