Principal Responsibilities:

This posting is for a specific shift, as opener of the Stroum Jewish Community Center Welcome Desk on Thursdays from 5am-9am, and Fridays from 5am-11am. The end time is negotiable, the start time is not. More days/hours may become available.

The ideal candidate would be an upbeat, considerate person with a good attitude and the ability to adapt to fluid situations. They should be able to work well with many different departments/personalities, be reliable, and punctual. If you are professional, flexible, and an organized person who loves to meet new people, this is the position for you!

Minimum Qualifications:

Some job requirements include:

Follow security protocols at all times; report any unusual behavior.

 Greet members and guests as they arrive, direct them as needed.

 Ensure proper sign-in occurs for guests.

 Answer member and guest questions regarding membership and the facility.
 Provide tours of the facility.

 Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Certificates and Licenses: No specific certificates or licenses required.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to make appropriate change when taking orders.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to the carrying out of detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands: To perform the job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear on the telephone and in person with individuals and groups.
Environmental Conditions: The work is typically performed in a front desk environment, with a moderate to loud noise level. Occasional travel to other areas of the facility may be required, where the noise level is moderate to loud and environmental conditions may include slippery surfaces, crowded areas, or working near moving parts (e.g. exercise equipment).
