Principal Responsibilities:

The Stroum Jewish Community Center of Greater Seattle is looking for an energetic, dynamic, enthusiastic leader to direct our 1100-camper summer and year-round day camp. Our day camp packs in all the awesomeness of overnight camp while campers and staff still get to sleep in the comfort of their own beds. Swimming, boating, archery, sports, arts & crafts, field trips, outdoor adventures, shira, maccabiah, shabbat celebrations and more, plus dozens of specialty camps to choose from (Pokemon, robotics, art, language immersion, performing arts...). If you believe in the power of camp to transform the lives of campers and counselors alike, this could be the job for you!

The Camp Director is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive, year-round vision for J Camp, which includes summer camp, school breaks, and school's out days.

Minimum Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; at least five years of related experience (and/or training) working as a manager in a resident or day camp program; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Located in greater Seattle, the SJCC offers a variety of programs and activities for everyone from newborns to seniors. The J is home to an Early Childhood School, a newly remodeled state-of-the-art auditorium, an upgraded Fitness Center, an indoor pool, an 1100+camper summer day camp, and more.

We host a variety of parenting classes and weekly Tot Shabbat programs for our youngest members and their parents. School-aged kids enjoy our Kidstown before and after school care, take sports and arts classes, spend their summers at SJCC Summer Camp, and become J Explorers. Adults can join a sports league or a book club, attend events in the Kesher Garden, swim laps in the pool, or work out in our Fitness Center. Seniors learn to play bridge, join fitness classes, and attend our popular Arts + Ideas events.
