Principal Responsibilities:

1.A commitment to the Merage JCC Mission and helping to build the Jewish community

2.Maintain and motivate a management team of high quality professionals

3.Project credibility within the community-at-large and with major donors

4.Ensure that there is a Vision Statement and be the communicator of the vision and "face" of the Merage Jewish Community Center

5.Involve and guide the Board Chair and Board of Directors. Assist in their identification, recruitment, and training of Board Members

6.Effectively manage available resources, both people and facilities

7.Maintain good relationships with other agencies in the Jewish and non-Jewish community

8.Lead by example with respect to work ethics, integrity and transparency

9.Ensure that the following key areas are well executed:

10.A strong commitment to Judaism and Israel

11.Commit to a standard of excellence

12.Commit to transparency of information

13.Provide and encourage professional development for staff

14.Have open communication with Chair and Board of Directors

15.Identify donors and potential donors and be the leader in the solicitation process

16.Represent the Merage JCC in the general community

17.Be a role model for the staff and Board

18.Recruit, hire, terminate, supervise and oversee key staff positions

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters Degree Preferred

10 Years experience in Jewish Community Center field

Salary and benefits commensurate with experience

The Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County is a 220,000 square-foot facility on 30 acres of land in beautiful Orange County, California. Orange County is home to some 100,000 Jews and sits between Los Angeles and San Diego and in between the Pacific Ocean and the San Bernardino Mountains.
