Principal Responsibilities:

A primary function of this and every other job at "The J" is to ensure by whatever rational and legal means necessary that each member, guest, and visitor leaves The J feeling just a little better than when they arrived.

Supervisor: Director of Jewish Life and Learning

Hours per week: 20, up to 40 hours during the Film Festival

Through our arts & culture programming, members and guests engage in conversation with one another, learn about cultures from around the world, and enrich their artistic and spiritual sides. We offer a robust schedule of classes throughout the year around topics such as: art, cooking, gardening, and languages. The Fine Art Gallery houses new exhibits approximately every two months, and features work by local artists. What was a barren plot of land just 10 years ago, is now a serene Sculpture Garden featuring permanent and juried works. The Tucson International Jewish Film Festival currently runs in January is in its twenty-eighth year of bringing high quality films rooted in Jewish values to Tucson. Arts and culture is an entry point for people of all ages into community at The J.

We are looking to find our perfect shiddach (match) to become the Tucson International Jewish Film Festival Director. A successful TIJFF Director will work closely with the lay committee to plan, execute, and wrap up the festival, in addition to working with the arts & culture team to bring relevant film-oriented experiences to The J year-round. Our ideal TIJFF Director will have strong programming, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, communication, and budgeting skills. We are looking for someone with the ability to be part of a team, and to collaborate with others at The J and in the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree is required. Experience with film, development, education, or arts and culture is desired. Our ideal TIJFF Director will have a strong Judaic and cultural arts background, as well as a passion for film. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with the ability to have fun, enjoy yourself, your work, your human contacts, and your environment!

The Tucson Jewish Community Center, also known as, "The J" has 2,100+ membership units and is the town hall for Jewish life in Tucson, Arizona.
