Principal Responsibilities:

Ensures the best possible member and guest satisfaction through a welcoming friendly and positive manner; receives and welcomes people as they enter the JCC either physically or via the telephone; confirms membership status; accurately manages point of sale transaction; securely distributes and receives health center keys, triages deliveries and responds to member & guest inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Knowledge and Education - Minimum Required or Preferred: GED required, High School Diploma preferred
2. Experience - Minimum Required or Preferred: 1+ year experience as a front desk receptionist, preferably in a hospitality environment
3. Special Skills:
a. Personable, diplomatic, & passionate about providing outstanding customer service

e. Consistently maintains a high level of professionalism
f. Proficient in the use of a computer & related software applications

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Receive members and visitors to the JCC
o Check membership
 Require members to scan in
 Issue guest passes as needed
 Confirm membership status for passes and program registration
o Issue guest / temporary passes as appropriate
o Distribute and collect Health Center keys
 Sell and accurately complete sales transactions: concession items, programs, personal training, massage sessions, pro shop items; tickets for events, Gallery Players, Book Fair, Film Festival, dinners, etc; catering, etc.
o Receive program registration and payments
 Accurately complete all required paperwork
o Sign members in for their massage / personal training sessions (package)
o Print and distribute receipts for purchased services
 To appropriate staff
 Balance cash drawer accurately after each shift
o Maintain correct opening and closing bank
 Responsible for racquetball and tennis court reservations
 Agency point of contact for Building Operations
 Exceed expectations when providing members / visitors with requested information
o Promptly refer member / visitor to appropriate staff &/or JCC department
 Deliver outstanding customer service in a friendly, polite and diplomatic manner
o Give member / visitor needs and requests the highest priority
 Promote new programs to members and staff
 Promptly and accurately direct all telephone inquiries
 Call 911 and triage phone calls during emergency
o Learn and maintain working knowledge of JCC emergency procedures plan
 Receive, verify, and sign for deliveries; communicate delivery to JCC recipient
 Provide accurate and timely back up support for agency's administrative overflow on an as needed basis
 All other duties as assigned.
