Location and Job Title:

BBYO Program Coordinator/Teen Camps Director
Marcus JCC of Atlanta
5342 Tilly Mill Rd
Dunwoody, GA 30338

JCC Info:

Impacting more than 55,000 people annually, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta is welcoming to people of all faiths, ages, and backgrounds. One hundred years ago, Jews with vastly fewer resources than today built a Jewish Community Center in Atlanta. With little more than their passion for a better life, they built a safe, secure, and vibrant community center for their families and for all of the Jewish Atlanta families who followed.

The MJCCA has always given the community a place to gather and connect with friends and family through meaningful programs and much-needed services. For 100 years, the MJCCA has turned everyday minutes into Jewish moments that are remembered for a lifetime.

Principal Responsibilities:

BBYO is the leading pluralistic, Jewish teen movement and has been providing exceptional leadership programs and identity enrichment experiences for more than 90 years. We offer year-round activities for 83,000 teens across 600 local communities across 34 countries and inspiring worldwide travel experiences enabling teens to explore areas of leadership, service, civic engagement, Israel education and Jewish values. Atlanta Council BBYO is an 89 year old program and an integral part of the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta's Teen Department. There are over 950 high school BBYO members in Atlanta's expanding Jewish community, requiring additional support to help develop the BBYO program across the Atlanta Metro area.

The BBYO Program Coordinator is responsible for growing the BBYO movement in Atlanta by developing creative and meaningful programming for teens through community-wide engagement events, established AZA (boys) and BBG (girls) chapters, and collaboratively with partner agencies. The ultimate goals are to elevate the BBYO experience locally, enhance program content, and inspire more Jewish teens to take part in Jewish life focusing primarily on males in grades 8-12. This position is part of a strategic cohort of communities (Boys Engagement Initiative) that is focused on engaging more male Jewish teens in Jewish life as part of a communal response to high disengagement following Bar Mitzvah. Clear metrics provide clarity for a path to success for this professional. This person will direct the MJCCA Teen Camps from mid-May through mid-August.
