The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, a member of the Jewish Community Center Association of North America, is one of the largest social service, recreational and educational organizations in the region. For more than 120 years, the JCC has enriched our community by creating an environment rooted in Jewish values that strengthens the physical, intellectual and spiritual well-being of individuals and families. Comprehensive programming includes child care and preschool, after-school and schools-out programs, day and overnight camping, senior adult activities, fitness and wellness programs, special needs services, arts and cultural activities including a nationally-accredited Jewish museum and scores of programs for all ages and interests. The JCC houses state-of-the-art fitness and wellness facilities, heated indoor swimming pools and an Olympic-size outdoor pool for summer use, gymnasiums, squash/racquetball courts, outdoor playgrounds, auditoriums, dance studios, classrooms and meeting areas. The JCC is a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, United Way of Allegheny County and Jewish Healthcare Foundation.

Principal Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as an educational leader with a focus on teen leadership opportunities. Responsible for overseeing and implementing the Pittsburgh Diller Teen Fellows, Teen Engagement Initiatives, and 11th and 12th Grade High School/College transition programming, as assigned.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Diller Junior Counselors Diller Program Intern Teen Engagement Interns SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervision from Division Director  Jewish Life

Minimum Qualifications:

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Frequently he/she is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds and is rarely required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
