Principal Responsibilities:

The part-time teacher is responsible for supervising and managing a group of children and providing a safe, nurturing environment in a nursery school setting. School serves children between the ages of 13 months and 5 years old.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support to teachers through by implementing lesson plan, supervising children , observing and recording children's behavior during routines and transitions, ensuring ordered arrangement and appearance of child-centered classroom in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Early Childhood Department and the JCC

Provide for the health and safety of all children in the school and aid in general housekeeping

Create a positive, warm, individualized, and nurturing environment for children that stimulate inquiry and open ended thought

Consistently treat children with dignity, respect, and compassion and help each child become aware of his/her role as an integral member of the group

Cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with parents

Foster and develop relationships with other teaching team members, including co-teachers

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in earl y childhood learning preferred

Must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults

It is essential that he/she have the personality and ability to provide warmth, leadership and stability for program continuity
