Agency Information:

The JCC Early Childhood program provides a comprehensive education for young children in a warm Jewish setting. We seek to nourish a child's natural curiosity and excitement while allowing each child to develop at his/her own pace. You can be confident that we will provide all the loving, enriching attention you want for your child.

The JCC of Greater Columbus' new "best in class" initiative features both The Creative Curriculum? and An Ethical Start?. The philosophy behind The Creative Curriculum? is that young children learn best by doing. The Creative Curriculum? is built on well-accepted theories of development in young children that research shows learn best through active exploration of their environment; therefore, the environment plays a critical role in day to day learning. The curriculum identifies goals in four areas of development: Social/Emotional, Cognitive, Physical and Language. The planned activities for the children, the organization of the environment, the selection of toys and materials, the daily schedule and interaction with the children are all designed to accomplish the goals and objectives of the curriculum. This ensures each child will have the opportunity for a successful school year and a bright academic future. As a Center of Jewish learning we are deeply committed to teaching young children about their religious identity. We integrate Jewish traditions, prayers and values into classroom learning. This Jewish outlook offers an opportunity for our children to experience Judaism while learning universal values.Jewish learning is an integral part of the JCC Preschool program. Holiday and Shabbat celebrations help children understand the Jewish traditions, customs, and ceremonies. Jewish ethics and values are incorporated into our daily activities. Our connection to Israel and its history are introduced at various times throughout the school year. In addition, children are exposed to Pirke Avot (Ethics of our Fathers) through implementation of An Ethical Start?.

The goal of our program is to create children that are independent, confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners and successful students in a warm Judaic environment.
