The Miami Beach JCC is a community agency with a fitness center, pool, summer camp, Arts & Culture, after school activities and a variety of enrichment programs and cultural events for all ages and segments of the community.

Principal Responsibilities:

Job Title: Accounting Department Assistant

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Department: Accounting

Status: Non-Exempt/part-time, approx.. 20 hours per week

Position Summary:

Non- Profit Agency looking for part time assistance in the accounting department working directly with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable and CFO.

Duties:
Records daily transactions into general ledger system. Verifies accuracy of invoices and any other accounting document

Updates and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs (MIP)
Compiles data and prepares a variety of reports.
Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.
Makes bank deposits
Maintains accounting records by making copies and filing documents
Protects the Agency's value by keeping information confidential
Accomplishes accounting and Agency mission by completed related results as needed
Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
Investigates questionable data.

Qualifications:
Proficient with computers and able to learn new processes (Microsoft applications including word, excel and outlook)
Organizational, verbal and written communication skills is a must
Excellent reporting skills
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset
