Principal Responsibilities:

JCC Association is seeking a highly motivated videographer/photographer from the tri-state area to work in-house at JCC Association's New York offices, who wants to build a compelling visual storytelling portfolio. This is an in-house position that will allow the professional to learn about all the facets of the JCC Movement and join a larger marketing and communications team.

The creation of proprietary visual content is a priority for JCC Association; to promote initiatives, events, and trips; to document and present speakers; to provide visual resources and program support to the field; to create content for social our social audience; and to share our mission with major and mega-philanthropy in an appealing, approachable, influential, and relevant manner.


This position will be expected to create scripted and non-scripted videos, be creative about the sourcing of additional footage, and engage JCCs to provide JCC Association with (extra) footage. Initiate video content meetings to define the audience, messaging, call to action, and goals. Create shot lists, production schedules, scripts and paper cuts as needed. Record VO and mix audio in-house. Adapt and use branding from various sources and as needed add limited animation.

The videographer will travel and participate in most JCC Movement-wide events, including major conferences, board meetings, JCCs visits, travel on JCC Israel trips (as budget allows), cover cohort gatherings, and other messaging opportunities. Day-to-day, the videographer is expected to work in-house at JCC Association. The videographer will collaborate with all members of the Marketing and Communications team as well as working with our in-house clients for their needs.


The Photography component of this role is mostly documentation, and the photographer will only be called upon to take on this role in-house or for very limited purposes out-of-house. The needs may be headshots for website or collateral use, documenting collateral, or gatherings within JCC Association for social purposes. Limited post-production photographic retouching may be required.

This person will need excellent time management, project and file organization abilities. In both capacities, this candidate might be asked to provide guidance or share best practices with members of the JCC field.

Minimum Qualifications:

Professional/expert level video production and post-production (3-6 years)

Best practices and standards for shooting and screening video, including online use

Photo and video lighting competencies

Audio mixing and recording capabilities

Expert editing and storytelling abilities

Limited animation and graphics experience

Software Expertise:

Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom)

Microsoft Office

NO Final Cut Pro

Hardware Expertise:

Canon EOS 6D Mark II

Canon Vixia HFG20

Sennheiser microphones

Lavalier Microphones

Zoom and Tascam recorders

LED and traditional video lights

LED and strobe traditional photo lights
