Principal Responsibilities:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Technical Theatre Production Assistant for the Jewish Community Center San Francisco Arts & Ideas Season, internal departmental programs and Private Events, as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Master Electrician, as needed
- Assist in integration of lighting plots into performance spaces
- Hang and focus lighting equipment
- Operate and work from Genie lift and ladders safely
- Program and operate ETC Gio lighting console
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot lighting equipment
- Assist Audio Engineer, as needed
- Assist in integration of audio systems into performance spaces
- Set up microphones, monitors, speakers, and playback systems
- Operate analog audio console for basic microphone and playback use
- Provide technical audio/visual assistance to JCCSF departmental and private events
- Execute day-of technical production details for events advanced by PM and APM
- Set up, test, operate and strike multi-media for JCCSF programs and rentals in accordance with JCCSF production standards
- Interact with facilities, rental, security, IT and other appropriate departments
- Report any incidents, equipment problems and facility issues to PM
- Ensure that all procedures are consistent with JCCSF life safety and security protocols
- Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
- Stagehand/loader - perform basic duties such as truck loading, curtain pulling, basic props and backline services
- Stage Management - organize talent, call cues, interact with artists
Minimum Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS:
- Three - five years professional performance lighting experience
- Basic understanding of audio systems
- Fundamental electrical knowledge
- Capability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work in high and small places, with no fear
- Valid California driver's license
- Strong interpersonal and phone skills
- Model behavior based on JCCSF working principles and customer service standard
- Be committed to the mission and goals of the JCCSF
STATUS: Non-exempt, non-benefited
HOURS: Over-hire position, up to 19 hours/week. Must be available weekend/evening hours. Willing to work holidays a plus.
