Principal Responsibilities:

Supervisor: Aquatics Director

Hours of Work: Permanent Full Time Hours 32-40hr/wk

Shift: Sunday - Thursday

Wage / Salary :$25/hr + comprehensive benefits package

The Aquatics Program Supervisor's role is primarily one of direct service to the members and guests to the swimming pool at the Jewish Community Centre. With the J's core values in mind, the Aquatic Program Supervisor will train, mentor, supervise and participate in the work of the Aquatics Team. Reporting to the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Program Supervisor role is an integral part of the pool's leadership assisting in the development of instructors, support of lifeguarding staff, acting as a liaison for user groups, and member/public relations. The Aquatic Program Supervisor is also the responsible individual for the facility operation as well as supervision of staff and programs when the Aquatics Director is not present.

The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver is a charity whose mission is to provide leadership in cultural, recreational, educational and social activities to the Jewish and general communities in the Oakridge area of Vancouver.

We are looking for a service oriented individual to supervise aquatics programs and train, mentor and supervise the aquatics team. This position reports to the Aquatics Director and is an integral part of the department's leadership team. The successful candidate will ensure that aquatic program and pool safety standards are being met. To achieve this, they will need to maintain the following certifications: National Lifeguard Service Pool Option, Red Cross Water Safety Instructors, Lifesaving Society Instructors, CPR level C, AED provider and Standard First Aid.
