Principal Responsibilities:

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Camping and Youth Services will lead a strategically important segment of the JCC Greater Boston programming portfolio that aims to serve the needs of children, teens, and their families. Our programs support the building of Jewish identities and community, while nurturing self-confidence and personal growth of our participants through experiential and hands-on learning in the arts, culture, sports, and leadership opportunities. This includes the JCC's two day camps: Camp Grossman located at Hale Reservation in Dover, MA and Camp Kaleidoscope, at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton, MA. Combined, these camps hire hundreds of seasonal staff and welcome thousands of campers and their families each summer. Additional program responsibilities include the Diller Teen Fellowship, school year vacation week programs, JCC Maccabi Games, as well as potential for tremendous growth and opportunity to expand our offerings to support more youth, teens, and their families in new ways.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading with a vision for camping and youth programs and a professional passion for the role these programs play in a young person's social, emotional, and behavioral growth is required for this role. Approaching opportunities, and challenges, with curiosity is necessary for success as this position will examine and implement the expansion of JCC's offerings for children and teens, underpinned by philanthropic investments and new opportunities for earned income. This role also requires an innovative and thoughtful leader who is skilled at managing multiple distinct priorities and personalities at once. They will also have confidence in budget planning and analysis; ability to authentically collaborate with other agency partners, including marketing to leverage camp brand loyalty to other JCC programs and services. With a major capital campaign on the horizon for Camp Grossman, this role will be a high-level partner to the VP of Development, CEO, CSPO, and key Board committees and members.
