Location and Job Title:

Witness Project Coordinator
Sid Jacobson JCC
300 Forest Dr
East Hills, NY 11548

Principal Responsibilities:

The Sid Jacobson JCC is looking for a Witness Project Coordinator to manage the inter-generational program for teenagers and Holocaust survivors in collaboration with UJA-Federation of New York. This part-time position is in Nassau County, Long Island.

Witness Project, a unique program in its 6th year, run in collaboration with UJA-Federation of New York, is an inter-generational program for teenagers and Holocaust survivors. The goal of the program is to connect high school students with Holocaust survivors in a meaningful way. Holocaust survivors are empowered by sharing their stories of strength and resilience and perpetuating their legacies to the next generation while students are inspired by what they hear and learn. This program will instill the memory of the Holocaust in the students minds and will create a new generation of witnesses. Ultimately, the students will serve as ambassadors and impart their experiences to the next generation.

The students will learn firsthand about the Holocaust, create close relationships with survivors and ultimately express what they have learned through an art form of their choice (i.e. photography, poetry, video, artwork, etc.)
