Principal Responsibilities:

The Lego League Coach guides and supports two teams of children through the First Lego League Explorers Program. The Coach will facilitate weekly meetings for the team, help the children set goals, and ensure adherence to the program's rules and guidelines. The Coach will create the schedule and craft weekly lesson plans using First Lego League resources. They are the primary contact for the team, receiving all the information about the challenge and tournament, and are responsible for communicating this information out to families clearly, concisely and promptly. Team meetings will be 90 minutes long each week, with the coach needing to put in another 90 minutes of weekly prep time, resulting in roughly 3 hours per week of work. The TC will attend the final celebration festival with the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be reliable, report to work on time, and meet established deadlines

? Loves working with children and responding to their emergent needs

? Must be flexible: able to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues

? Minimum 18 years of age

? Must be able to pass a background check

Experience working with youth, ages 7-10 preferred

Personal or professional experience in a STEM field or with Lego League preferred
