JOB SUMMARY
The JCC Mid-Westchester (JCCMW) is seeking a Director, Enrichment and Inclusion, who will design, lead, and implement strategies and programs to support and empower youth with disabilities and their families through engaging and supportive activities.
Since 2004, JCCMW has run enrichment programs for children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities. Our strong track record has led to increased demand and an expansion of services over the years, Utilizing a foundation of compassion and respect, our programs provide meaningful opportunities to learn, socialize, have fun, and build community. This individual will build on an important legacy at the JCCMW and continue to foster an environment where every participant can thrive and build meaningful connections.
The Director, Enrichment and Inclusion, will work closely with The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to ensure our grant-funded programs are available and accessible to all. The Director will work closely with other program and operations directors to ensure innovative and quality programming and a seamless experience for our community members, volunteers, and staff.
The Director will lead all facets of supervision and management for our suite of enrichment and inclusion programs, with the goal of growing and deepening these programs to continue to meet community needs, bringing innovative ideas and a collaborative spirit to the organization. Importantly, this individual will recruit, onboard, and train teen volunteers who serve as 1:1 buddies for enrichment program participants, in order to learn and grow alongside one another.
Lastly, the Director will provide a successful, well-reputed suite of programs via a combination of teamwork, encouragement, compassion, respect, and presumption of ability. Programs will cultivate self-esteem, encourage creativity, support communication and other skills, and help kids develop friendships through a warm, nurturing atmosphere and small groups.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include movement within an office environment. The role requires the ability to write by hand and use a keyboard to perform general office functions. Also requires the ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Visual acuity is needed for detailed work, and computer use. The ability to sit for extended periods of time is also a requirement. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers and children accurately, loudly, or quickly. On rare occasions, it may be necessary to move quickly and use physical intervention or de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors and ensure a safe and accessible environment.
SALARY
$64,000 - 65,000, 30 hours/week, hours negotiable (25-40 hours/week) given interest and capacity of the candidate.
