SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant will support the accounting operations of the JCC in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.The position is responsible for recording transactions between multiple operational systems by importing them into our General Ledger system (Sage Intacct).Reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly including bank reconciliations, program dashboards, preparing annual audited workpapers and assisting with answering questions from our audit.The Senior Accountant will also communicate directly with staff and members to answer questions and inquiries including registrations, statement balances and budgetary questions.This position must maintain a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Prepare various monthly journal entries and adjusting entries.
• Update the cash position on a daily basis.
• Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Bill our partners for expenses that are incurred on our behalf and follow up on the payment of these invoices.
• Download data from various CRM's and then import to our General Ledger Accounting system (Intacct).
• Build and maintain dashboards utilizing accounting software data.
• Respond to auditors' inquiries in regard to annual financial audit.
• Prepare financial statement and analysis for the executive team, finance committee and board.
• Review balance sheet accounts monthly for discrepancies and reconcile differences.
• Provide backup to support Accounts Payable Coordinator and Accounting Manager.
• Perform special projects as assigned
• Attend all JCC meetings and programs as required
• Participate in JCC large scale events as required
• Assist with year-end audit and IRS reporting
• Assist with additional audits as requested
• Perform other duties as required or directed
• Produce imports from various databases into our general ledger system

Minimum Qualifications:

WHO YOU ARE:

• BS in Accounting
• Minimum of five years experience working in an accounting
• Working knowledge of non-profit accounting is a plus
• Experience working with computerized financial systems (E.g. Intacct, Ceridian, Salesforce, Camp Minder)
• Excellent understanding of General Ledger Debits and Credits
• Competent with Microsoft Office.Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task various projects
• Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills
• Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with staff, members, community partners, and lay leaders

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is usually fast paced.This job requires high energy and interaction with staff as well as with members, other agency staff, community leaders, and outside partners, vendors, others.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear.The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.The employee is occasionally required to stand.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Salary:

55,000-70,000
