Principal Responsibilities:

The Refugee Housing Coordinator will play a crucial role in assisting refugees to secure stable and affordable housing in the Southern Maine area. This position requires strong organizational skills, a compassionate understanding of the challenges faced by refugees, and the ability to work collaboratively with community partners, landlords, and service providers.

This position reports to the HIAS Refugee Resettlement Manager Siobhan Whalen, and the job is full time, 40 hours per week, at $25 per hour. The position is exempt. The holiday schedule will follow the JCA preschool, and includes several Jewish holidays as well as Federal Holidays when they fall during regularly scheduled work time.

In early 2022, KJFS became a partner of HIAS' Refugee Resettlement Program. This is a humanitarian program designed to assist those who are fleeing violence, persecuted due to their race, religion, nationality, membership in a social group or political opinion, and displaced from their home countries. Our program works with partners across the community to ensure families have what they need not just to survive but thrive.
