SUMMARY:

Habimah Arts Camp is a multi-disciplinary summer camp giving children, grades from 1st-8th, a chance to work with Baltimore's master performing and visual arts teaching artists and professionals. It is the programs goal to enhance campers skills, explore new horizons, and offer exposure and skill-building in various realms within visual and performing arts. Camp classes are intended to develop creativity, confidence and teamwork. Each camp day consists of several classes within these fields, and concluding each two-week camp session, campers put on a final showcase of what they've learned. The program also incorporates swimming, outdoor time, and field trips.

Under the supervision of the Creative Summer Camp Director and Senior Camp Director, the ideal teaching artist is prepared to be a role model within their field, has experience and loves teaching children of all ages, and has extensive experience in their art form.

In addition to these instructors, this year, the program will also be incorporating a new section to our older campers, where the final product will be a full stage musical. Therefore, we are looking to engage with local professionals in technical and design fields to support said production. We are currently searching for positions such as a set designer, stage manager, music director, and costume designer. The ideal candidate would include someone who enjoys working with young people and/or theatre for young audiences. These positions are also open to teaching classes within their art form to campers. Please read below and apply to the contact provided.

COMMITMENT:

Full day commitment is 8:30-4:30 daily. Partial day commitment is 8:30AM-1PM or 1PM-4:30PM daily.

Looking for full day and/or partial day teaching artists; two-week commitment is required, preference given to artists who can commit for more than one session and/or the entire summer. Summer camps begin June 20th and conclude August 12th.

Designers and technical professionals may also elect to teach classes for the summer camp. Hours are flexible and negotiable, as design elements need to be prepared in advance in coordination with the theatre director/choreographer and implemented by the time of tech week and/or the show date. Musical is slated for performances on August 11th and 12th.
