Principal Responsibilities:

The JCA seeks a skilled and passionate professional to run our PJ Library program, which provides age-appropriate, relevant, and fun Jewish programming for kids, as well as sending free Jewish-themed books monthly to enrolled families. As an ambassador for the JCA and the welcoming face of the Jewish community of Southern Maine for families with young children, this staff member will bring to the position excellent interpersonal skills, an outgoing and friendly communication style, and experience working professionally with young children and their families. The successful candidate will demonstrate good judgement, discretion and sensitivity, and will have excellent project- and time-management skills. Training and support is provided by the JCA as well as the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, which also offers resources and financial incentive grants to help support the program.

This position reports to the JCA's Director of Programming, and the job is part time, 12 hours per week, at $16 per hour; occasional evening and weekend hours are required to staff special events. The position is non-exempt. The holiday schedule will follow the JCA preschool, and includes several Jewish holidays as well as federal holidays when they fall during regularly scheduled work time.
