Principal Responsibilities:

JCC Greater Boston is seeking a Health & Fitness On-Duty Manager. He/She/They would be responsible for creating a welcoming, friendly environment for all members/staff, overseeing the safety of the JCC of Greater Boston, enforcing all procedures and policies, and responding to emergencies. This individual will deliver excellent customer service and timely communication with members, families, and team members. This valued member of the JCC Greater Boston team serves a key role in ensuring safe and smooth operations. The position is located in Newton MA, and the schedule will consist of 4-6 hour shifts on weekday evenings and weekends (morning and afternoon) for 8-15 hours of work per week.

This position will pay $20/hour. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the hours the employee will work, the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity. Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities for Health & Fitness Manager On-Duty

• Represent the Health & Fitness department in a positive and professional manner at all times. Introduce yourself, greet members by first name, smile, and engage in friendly conversation.
• Supervise the Health & Fitness Wing to maintain a clean and safe environment for all users
• Create supervisory presence and visibility by performing ongoing building rounds during shift (at least once every 20 minutes), addressing suspicious or unsafe behaviors, or activity
• Enforce all Health & Fitness department policies and follow all On-Duty Manager Procedures
• Oversee and assist all part-time staff working in the Health & Fitness wing
• Respond to all emergencies and address member concerns and suggestions in an attentive courteous manner, and follow up with documentation
• Report all accidents, incidents, issues, and concerns in a Shift Summary Report
• Responsible for being punctual and finding shift coverage when needed
• Perform other various tasks as assigned

Qualifications for Health & Fitness Manager On-Duty

• Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
• Has a High School degree or equivalent experience
• Has computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Has excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills

Essential Functions for Health & Fitness Manager On-Duty

• Is able to stand/walk for a long period of time, circulating the building
• Is able to lift, carry, and move positon objects weighing up to 45lbs
