Principal Responsibilities:

Position Title: Director of School Age Programs
Status: Full-Time
Reports to: Chief Program Officer
Salary: $50,000-$58,000

The Director of School Age Programs is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations of our afterschool and summer camp program including development, coordination, and supervision of the program to ensure students and families receive high quality services that meet their needs. The Director is also responsible for planning programs during school vacations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Program Development:
 Hire, supervise, train and evaluate all program staff including afterschool teachers, camp counselors, program specialists and other staff related to school age programs
 Assist with the development and oversight of the budget, policies and daily activities
 Responsible for planning and purchasing all materials and equipment needed
 Model positive and proactive attitudes and behaviors, strong classroom and behavioral management skills
 Communicate regularly with parents and staff to ensure consistency and effectiveness
 Recruit students and campers and determine strategies to increase enrollment
 Retain families for following years through community building efforts
 Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging natural environment which reflects respect and compassion that is supportive of and accessible to children
 Support integration of families into all the activities of the Alliance
 Encourage the involvement of families in the Jewish Alliance and the Jewish community
 Participate in school, social, and family education programs and meetings, as well as larger organizational programs and trainings, as needed
 Represent the Alliance at afterschool and camp conferences and fairs throughout the year

Organizational Management:
 Provide feedback to and support for the implementation of the organization's strategic plan.
 Serve on cross-departmental teams to address specific projects or issues for the Alliance.
 Track metrics and maintain organizational dashboard items related to After School Programs. Report on metrics to the management team.

Qualifications:

 Demonstrated experience with the Alliance's core values and a clear commitment to them
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
 Working knowledge of the growth and development of children and ability to utilize this information in the camp activities
 Strong written and oral communications skills
 Ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects. Strong organizational skills
 Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including occasional nights and weekends
 Ability to work closely with others in a team environment and effectively interact with all levels of management, parents and volunteers
 Must have or willingness to obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification
 Bachelor's Degree in related field
 Management experience required
 Minimum three years of experience working with children
 Judaic background or willingness to learn
 Understanding of DHS regulations,\or willingness to acquire

Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000
