Principal Responsibilities:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Lead
Audio Engineer responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance
of building-wide audio systems, mixing live audio, audio for video
recording and webcasting, and associated audio-visual tasks set forth by
the JCCSF Production Manager. The Lead Audio Engineer is a member of
Lead Production Team acting as primary point technician for events, as
assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Front-of-house
audio engineer responsible for live sound reinforcement for
performances, lectures, and events for the JCCSF in accordance with
guidelines set forth by the JCCSF Production and Technology Manager.
- Responsible for audio set-up and strike as needed for each event.
- Audio record live performances and provide live audio feeds where appropriate
- Set up & operate portable audio systems throughout the Center as needed
- Interpret and execute detailed input list and stage plot information.
- Perform proactive, scheduled maintenance on building-wide audio systems.
General
- Act as lead day-of production staff for events, as assigned.
- Ensure production plans are executed per schedules, stage, and lighting plots.
- Primary point of contact for production staff and program managers when Production Manager is not present.
- Assist
Production Manager in providing training on policies and procedures to
overhire staff, as well as ongoing coaching and constructive feedback.
- Interacts with program managers and clients on the day of the event to verify event needs and those needs are being met.
- Communicate technical problems or personnel issues to supervisor or program manager as appropriate.
- Provide
additional support to theatre technical staff for load in, performance
and strike when needed such as supplemental audio and backline
equipment, lighting, and props
- Provide
additional AV support throughout the building, when needed. Set up
projectors, interface laptops, set up portable audio.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on all AV equipment as tasked.
- Model behavior based on JCCSF working principles and customer service standards.
- Be committed to the mission and goals of the JCCSF.
Minimum Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of continuous hands-on experience in professional live sound reinforcement.
- Proven
experience mixing front-of-house audio for bands, theatrical
performances, and lectures on large format analogue and digital mixing
consoles
- Highly experienced in mixing monitors from front-of-house console and from stage
- Full understanding of audio and power distribution and fundamentals
- Able to create master input lists and coordinate stage plots from technical riders
- Be able to mic a stage and assign monitor mixes as appropriate
- Must be proficient in audio for video
STATUS:
- Benefited, non-exempt, collective bargaining unit position.
- Classification: Professional II
HOURS:
- 25 hours per week
- Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are a requirement of this position

Salary:
$32.00 per hour
