Camp JCC is seeking a qualified, energetic, and compassionate candidate as an ART TEACHER for summer
2023. The art teacher is responsible for planning and conducting art projects that foster an environment of fun
and creativity. The position requires an ability to manage day-to-day interactions with children in grades K-9, a
strong ability to work collaboratively with the Camp JCC team, and the capacity to be flexible.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with children in a camp, school or daycare environment
Must enjoy playing and interacting with children
Organized, enthusiastic, and energetic
Must be a creative and innovative thinker and planner
Must take initiative, be self-directed, and capable of independently identifying and solving problems
Must have excellent communication skills and work well with both children and adults
Pass a required background check
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan a variety of art projects for children ages 4 through 15
Provide a planned and thoughtful program, infused with Jewish values, that will interest and excite campers
Adapt individual and small-group instruction to the needs of campers with varying intellectual and artistic
abilities
Multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Plan and direct engaging, age-appropriate activities
Serve as a positive role model in the camp community
Communicate with leadership to order supplies for projects
Manage risk, supervise participants, and model safe best practices while working
Other duties as assigned by camp leadershi
WORK SCHEDULE:
Applicant must be available to work Monday through Friday, June 12 through August 4 (7 weeks of camp
plus staff week) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
