Principal Responsibilities:

Northern Virginia (Fairfax) - The Pozez JCC is searching for a Camp & School-Age Services Director who loves working with children and who demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication and supervisory skills. The Director, who provides the vision for Camp Achva (the premier day camp in Northern Virginia based on Jewish values) and the Chai 5 after-school program, should have an entrepreneurial spirit and is able to demonstrate experience in developing an exciting and unique camp curricula and expert relationship building skills. This is a full-time, year-round position for someone who loves working with children and who demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication and supervisory skills. The ideal candidate can serve as a positive role model; work closely and communicate clearly and effectively with families, staff and stakeholders; possesses a passion for excellence in informal education; and holds a strong work ethic.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Have had 3+ years' experience working with children in a comparable capacity
• Have had 3+ years' management experience, including budget management, with a proven track record of success
• Possess strong customer service and supervisory skills
• Ability to have fun, lead, be part of a productive team and to support and enhance the strengths of the entire team  Hold a bachelor's degree in a child-related field
• Have a valid Driver's License
• Successfully pass a background check with fingerprinting
• Knowledge of Jewish community a plus
• The ideal candidate will be able to:
  • Communicate, establish, and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with children, young adults, families, and staff o Work in a fast-paced work setting both independently and as part of a team
  • Be organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time
  • Effectively oversee and grow programming for youth and teens
  • Make responsible decisions and respond calmly in stressful situations o Work proficiency in Microsoft Office and manage administrative tasks
