The Stamford JCC Inclusion Department is currently recruiting senior high school and college students for summer job employment in our Hand in Hand program. Hand in Hand, provides children grades Pre-K - 8 the opportunity to participate in a summer camp environment in a supportive setting. We work with children of all abilities to reach their fullest potential, both developmentally and interpersonally. Hand in Hand counselors shadow 2 campers with disabilities in the summer and help them with camp activities and building relationships. We are looking for students who have had experience working or volunteering with children who have disabilities and who genuinely enjoy working with diverse children in a recreational setting.
Duties of Position:
***Hand in Hand counselors must be 18 years or older and have at least 1 year of experience working with children with disabilities.
These requirements reflect the nature of the role and the qualities needed to be successful in providing a positive and engaging summer camp experience for all campers.
