Principal Responsibilities:

This position supports the work of the JCC Princeton Mercer Bucks & Abrams Camps, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through is to provide a safe, fun filled camp experience for youth and teens. Our highly trained and compassionate staff enables each camper to grow in an atmosphere, which promotes integrity, self-esteem, positive values, and good sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include:

• Always maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
• Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with JCC policies and procedures.
• Maintains effective, positive relationships with families, participants and other staff.
• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area. Maintains accurate records as required by the JCC and/or the state Health Department code.
• Assists with daily upkeep of pool and checks for hazardous conditions when arriving.
• Attends all staff meetings and in-service training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification (or equivalent) required.
• Leading and/or assisting with swim lessons for campers Prek-6^th grades.
• High-energy, enthusiastic, creative, open-minded, ready for anything.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 15 and enjoy working with children
• Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard, or equivalent.
• Contributes to being a team player.
• Available June 27th-August 19th, 2022.
