Position Description
The Wagner Green Centre for Access and Inclusion (WGCAI) is looking for their next leader. Supporting and nurturing an inclusive community, the WGCAI has previously focused on young adults with disabilities and their families ensuring they have opportunities to make meaningful connections with each other and contributions to their communities. Wagner Green Centre for Access and Inclusion is now envisioning an expanded mandate that will be under the purview of the new Director. This role will lead the vision and strategy for the MNjcc's accessibility work. The position is responsible for ensuring inclusive programming, eliminating barriers to participation, and fostering an accessible environment across all aspects of the community centre. This leader will advocate for accessibility, engage with the community, oversee program development, and implement policies that promote equity and universal access. Reporting to the ED or CXO, this full-time (37.5 hrs/week) role leads the accessibility strategy at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre (MNjcc).
About the WGCAI
Guided by the Young Adult Accessibility Advisory Committee, The WGCAI is a catalyst and leader in inclusion programming and co-creation. We offer arts-based, community engaged, skill building programming that can be offered both in person and online. We share our program model and best practices with other organizations including the JCC Association of North America, The Jewish Federations of North America, and Inclusion Canada. We invest deeply in meaningful partnerships with other organizations and agencies to expand our impact.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote Universal Access and Lead Accessibility Strategy: Develop and implement an inclusive programming strategy to ensure that the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre is welcoming and accessible to individuals of all abilities and backgrounds. As a member of the leadership team at the MNjcc work to eliminate barriers to participation in all areas of the community centre, including physical spaces, digital platforms, and communication channels.
- Strategic Vision: Develop, implement, and maintain the strategic vision to develop the direction of Wagner-Green Centre for Access and Inclusion, positioning it to be a leader within the Accessibility Community.
- Program Development and Evaluation Reporting: Lead department program design, implementation, research, and analysis. Assess programs and services that promote equity and inclusion for persons with disabilities, neurodiverse individuals, and other marginalized groups across the organization.Develop metrics, evaluate the impact of MNjcc accessible programming, and share findings with stakeholders.
- Community Outreach: Advocate for accessibility and inclusion by representing the MNjcc at internal and external events, implementing innovative solutions, and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational accessibility standards. Develop new, and foster existing relationships with community members, local organizations, and advocacy groups to identify needs and expand accessible program offerings. Co design and execute the outreach strategy with the Department Manager to ensure regular contact and participation with community members, local organizations and advocacy groups. Supervise and support the Young Adult Accessibility Advisory Committee.
- Resource and Budget Management: Manage financial and material resources effectively to develop sustainable accessible programming and initiatives. Support the grant writing process and collaborate on fundraising proposals that effectively convey the department's mission, vision, and programs to existing and potential funders, with the support of the MNjcc development department.
- Staff Development and Training: Lead a team of professionals with the opportunity to hire and expand the staff compilation. Lead training initiatives to educate staff and volunteers on best practices for creating inclusive environments and delivering accessible services.
Working Conditions
- A hybrid model with the expectation of some in-person days at the MNjcc and options for some work-from-home days
- Events may be in person, online or hybrid, some weekends and evenings

Salary and Benefits:
- Annual salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in non-profit leadership and/or management, working with marginalized communities and persons with disabilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, accessibility, and inclusion
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience within disability communities and cultures to cultivate partnership opportunities
- Dedication to leading a collaborative team with a strong creative vision
- Organized and strong attention to detail about programming and timelines
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy, and knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Knowledge of fundraising, development management, and sponsor stewardship experience
- Experience with Grant Writing/Reporting
- Clear/no relevant information from a VSS check/Criminal Reference Check
- Ability to legally work in Canada/Ontario/for the MNjcc
