THE OPPORTUNITY
At the JCC East Bay, we are building something new and exciting at an incredible time of growth and change. As Marketing Manager, you will be helping to establish a marketing team, a brand presence, and a community-facing identity, contributing not just marketing expertise and passion, but also helping to build new processes and establish marketing best practices that will help define the JCC East Bay and the new East Bay Jewish Community Campus. You will work closely with our Director of Marketing and Communications to bring campaigns to life across social media, email, and beyond, and you will have real ownership over the channels and projects you manage. POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager will report to and support the Director of Marketing and Communications, executing day-to-day marketing activities across social media, email, design, and event promotion. This is a hands-on, creative role that requires both strong execution skills and genuine enthusiasm for storytelling, design, and community engagement.You will play a key role in launching and growing the JCC East Bay's new campus and helping to establish marketing best practices as part of a growing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Management
- Own and manage the JCC East Bay's and East Bay Jewish Community Campus's presence on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, from content creation and scheduling to community engagement and performance reporting.
- Develop and maintain a social media content calendar in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
- Create compelling, on-brand graphics, reels, stories, and posts using Canva and other design tools.
- Monitor channels daily, respond to comments and messages, and grow our audiences organically.
- Use Sprout Social to schedule content, track analytics, and report on social media performance.
- Stay current on social media trends and platform updates; bring fresh ideas and creative energy to our channels and understand how to leverage different channels for different audiences.
- Leverage our social media and potentially influencer marketing to help us reach our program goals including event attendance, program enrollment, and more.
Email Marketing & Newsletters
- Produce regular organizational newsletters and program-specific email campaigns, and support program-specific newsletters across the organization.
- Draft copy, design layouts, build and send emails using our email marketing platform.
- Track open rates, click-through rates, and other metrics; share insights to improve performance over time.
- Maintain segmented audience lists and ensure communications reach the right people at the right time.
Event Marketing & Promotion
- Support marketing efforts for programs, events, open houses, and community gatherings organization-wide.
- Support the creation of on-brand event promotional materials including flyers, digital graphics, signage, landing pages, and social assets
- Partner with program managers across the organization to support their marketing and promotional needs.
- Capture content at events--photos, video, behind-the-scenes--for use across channels.
- Produce high-quality marketing materials using Canva (and other tools as needed), including social graphics, flyers, program brochures, and digital ads.?
- Work within established brand guidelines while bringing creativity and visual storytelling to every piece.
Other General Marketing Support
- Manage and organize a library of digital assets including photography, video, templates, and graphics.
- Collaborate with the Director on larger creative productions including photo shoots and video projects.
- Collaborate with the Director on larger strategic projects such as a new website build.
- Collaborate with outside vendors, and manage outside vendor relationships.
- Manage the website to ensure information is always current, accurate, relevant, and compelling, as well as on brand.
- Other duties as determined by the Director.
WHAT YOU'LL HELP BUILD
This role is a rare chance to help shape something from the ground up. Together with the Director of Marketing and Communications, you will:
- Help establish social media strategy, voice, and content workflows for a growing organization.
- Contribute to the launch marketing for our new Rockridge campus, a milestone moment for the JCC East Bay.
- Build and refine templates, systems, and processes that will make the whole team more effective.
- Be a part of defining JCC East Bay marketing, and what it can grow into.
Minimum Qualifications:
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience managing Instagram and Facebook for an organization or brand.
- Proficiency with design tools; you genuinely enjoy designing and have an eye for aesthetics and visual storytelling.
- Experience with Sprout Social or a comparable social media management and scheduling platform.
- Strong writing skills with impeccable grammar and the ability to write in a warm, engaging, community-centered voice.
- Data-driven approach with ability to track, report, and analyze marketing metrics and recommend actionable improvements.
- Experience with email marketing platforms, drip campaigns, and audience segmentation; Campaign Monitor experience a plus.?
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with a proven ability to set/manage timelines and goals.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work cross-functionally with program staff and leadership.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset; you see a gap and you want to fill it.
- Equally comfortable brainstorming big ideas and executing the day-to-day details that make campaigns happen.

- Ability to attend evening and weekend meetings and events as needed.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
- Portfolio Requirement: A portfolio or selection of relevant marketing campaign samples such as writing samples, campaign results, case studies, social media assets, or design work, will be requested from candidates moving forward in the selection process.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with basic photo and video editing tools.
- Experience with website content management systems.
- Experience with Google Analytics, SEO tools, and Meta for Business a plus.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually. Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick pay, and holidays (including Jewish).
