Principal Responsibilities:
Job Summary
JCC Mid-Westchester is seeking an experienced Swim Team Coach, which includes overseeing training sessions for the swim team and pre-team. This role encompasses coaching
responsibilities, swim meet management, administrative tasks, and other duties delegated by the Head Swim Coach and/or Director of Aquatics. The Swim team coach will play a pivotal role in
advancing and nurturing both the competitive and noncompetitive swim programs.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Assist in coaching Stingrays swim team and our pre-swim team program under the
supervision of the Head Coach and Director of Aquatics
- Present on deck at practices and works with specific age groups to develop swimmers
competitive skills
- Practices run Mondays-Fridays with additional weekend meets throughout the season
- Attends all swim meets and Championships
- Assists in overseeing individual and team entries for swim meets
- Must be available to coach additional swim team programs such as clinics, camps,
training trips, etc.
- Helps build team spirit
- Monitor and enhance performance while motivating swimmers
- Part-Time, 15-20 hours/week
Physical Requirements
Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion
assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights. Required to remain alert to dangerous
situations while sitting, standing or walking for various lengths of time
Salary - $25-$31 an hour

Minimum Qualifications:
Skills, Education and Experience
- At least one year prior coaching experience preferred
- USA Swimming experience preferred
- Experience coaching ages 5-18 years old
- Passionate about swimming
- Positive and flexible with the ability to create a winning team environment
- Possess exceptional leadership qualities
- Customer service oriented and results driven
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED required, Lifeguard preferred
- Safety training for Swim Coaches required
- Experience with Team Manager and Meet Manager preferred
