Job title: Maintenance Tech II

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintenance Tech II position performs a variety of equipment and building maintenance repairs including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, cleaning, event support, grounds keeping, pool operations, and other tasks as assigned. Works to maintain high standards of cleanliness and repair throughout the building to insure that members and visitors enjoy a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment.

Perform daily building inspections of equipment and building appearance, looking for anything that is out of place or work that needs to be completed.

Perform scheduled tasks and maintain detailed records of work performed in the work order system.

Understand the JCC emergency codes and responsibilities of staff to respond to emergencies.

Be aware of and report safety and maintenance concerns.

Maintain compliance with all JCC policies and Facilities department procedures.

Maintain daily assigned schedule (See Attached duty schedule) and enter Work Orders daily.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Previous experience in commercial building maintenance is required. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of basic building maintenance electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting & carpentry. Experience in pool maintenance & fleet maintenance is valued but not required. Training is available and encouraged.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Works independently and as a team member.

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Must be able to read and understand mixing instructions for cleaning chemicals

Must be able to cooperate, assist and support

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and be able to climb ladders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

GENERAL (ALL STAFF)

  1. Answer service requests and emergency maintenance requests as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  2. Be aware of safety and appearance concerns throughout the building and grounds at all times.
  3. Take preventative measures to keep building equipment running, correct and report issues as they develop.
  4. Understand emergency codes and responsibilities of staff to respond to building emergencies.

SCHEDULE

40 Hours full time with benefits

5 Days per week, must be flexible (hours subject to change with season, events, and or vacation coverage, etc.)

DAILY ASSIGNMENTS

  1. Daily Building Quality check
    1. Troubleshoot issues throughout the building
    2. Take corrective measures, repair as needed
    3. Document and inform manager of any/all changes made and supplies needed
  1. Assist with JCC Vehicle Maintenance
    1. Perform safety and operation checks as assigned
    2. Make minor repairs i.e. change wiper blades, batteries, tires as needed.
  1. Maintain Cleanliness and Disinfect Public Areas, as needed
  1. Remove trash as necessary - smash it down
  2. Re-stock paper products as required
  3. Keep counters, sinks, mirrors, partitions, fixtures, walls etc. clean, dry and spot free.
  4. Sweep and mop floors as necessary to maintain a safe, dry and attractive appearance.
  5. Maintain adjoining drinking fountains.
  1. Complete Jolt Check lists / Work orders, etc. as assigned. (Required)

Keep all areas pristine and in good repair: Social Hall - Dance Floor - Kitchen - Rotunda-School areas and workout areas. Cover Events (as required).Assist with exterior projects and aesthetics: Raking, Planter Beds, Weeds, etc. Check Work Order lists for requested assignments daily.
