Principal Responsibilities:
The Teen Fellow Associate serves as the second staff member on the program supporting the Diller Teen Fellow Program. They are a facilitator, educator, mentor, and guide to the 20 teens in the Los Angeles cohort. The Associate's primary role is to help the Coordinator support each teen as they explore their relationship to Jewish life and their community.
Travel with the group to Israel July 2 to July 24, 2024
Assist with local programming throughout the year in accordance with the Diller mission, vision, and goals (includes but is not limited to logistics, service-learning projects, and Israel Education).
As available, attend the three Weekend retreats (Shabbatonim) Friday noon-Sunday morning.
Support & assist the ten-day spring seminar in Los Angeles during which the Israeli teens visit with their North American peers and learn about the Los Angeles Jewish community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completed or in process BA in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Jewish Studies, or related field.
Experience developing and leading programming addressing Jewish identity development, youth leadership development, community service, and Israel education.
Experience in experiential education, group facilitation online and in-person, program development and/or management.
Availability for domestic and international travel, including to Israel.
Proven success developing personal connections with and mentoring Jewish teens.
Understanding of and appreciation for Israeli culture, preferably including extended time in Israel and at least a beginning-intermediate understanding of Israeli history, politics, and geography.
Strong facilitation, education, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate in an international partnership.
Availability to support the program from August 27, 2023-August 18, 2024.
